About
A small publishing house with big opinions.
Our mission
We publish fiction for the way people actually read in 2026: on a phone at lunch, on a Kindle in bed, on headphones walking home. We treat e-books, web novels, and audiobooks as first-class formats — not afterthoughts to a paperback that will arrive in stores eventually.
The story
Paby was founded in late 2023 by three friends who'd worked in legacy publishing long enough to be furious about how slow it had become. We started with a single web serial, a borrowed studio, and a spreadsheet for royalties. Two years on, we've published over 40 titles in 18 languages, and we still send the royalty statements ourselves.
What we believe
- — Authors should get paid before the book sells.
- — Audiobooks deserve their own creative direction.
- — Serial fiction is not a lesser form. Dickens did fine with it.
- — Royalty statements should fit on one page.
- — Hype is not a marketing strategy.
